Small Groups

Listed below are the Connection Opportunities that are currently available for you and your family.  A group is provided for all ages. You need to get connected to the family of faith and build life-changing relationships through Bible study.

Sunday Mornings @ 9:30am

• Pre-school - Newborn through 4yrs Leader:  Sarah Dery This is more than babysitting.  Ms. Sarah and leaders teach the children the ABC's of the faith. They meet in the nursery area in the Sanctuary building. 

• Children - K thru 5th grade Leaders:  Jennifer Hardy 4yr-1st gr., Gloria Mantovani 2nd-3rd gr. Russell Mantovani 4th- 5th gr.  Rooms 7, 8, 9, 10.                Youth - 6th thru 12th grade Leaders:  Suzi Arkwright 6th-8th gr. &  Gale Brooks 9th-12th gr.  Rooms 1-3  Currently doing an overview of the New Testament.     Young Adult (Co-ed, 25 and younger) Leader:  Jamee Cocke Room: 4   Current study: "The Case For Christ" Adult Ladies 1 & 2 (59 and younger)  Leader: Selma Grantham  Room: 15.    Currently using the book "Victoriously Frazzled." 
• Adult Ladies 3 (60 years and older)  Leader:  Valda Robinson  Room: 14.  They are currently studying from the Life Ventures series.

• Adult Men:  Leader:  Dan Arkwright. Room: 6. Currently doing a verse by verse study on the book of Ephesians.
• Come early for fellowship, coffee, juice, and pastries at the La Petra Café (room 4).   Open 9:00 to 9:30 AM.

Sunday Evenings 5:00-7:00pm

• Youth- 6th grade through 12th grade  Leaders:  Suzi Arkwright, Gale Brooks  Rooms: 1-4. Learning and developing life changing relationships through games, music, food, fellowship, Bible study and prayer.  They study a variety of topics.

Saturday Evenings 7:00-9:00 PM

• Men's Group: Leader: Michael Williams  They meet in room 6 for fellowship and Bible Study.   Verse by verse study of the Gospel of Matthew.

Highlights from Vacation Bible School 2007

G-Force is a high energy, multi-media, interactive, Christ honoring Bible curriculum for children. We were excited to introduce both a new format and this new curriculum in May.

Youth News

Hooray!  Schools our for Summer!  Congratulations to Mary Anderson on graduating from Hillsborough High!  Good Job, we are proud of you!  We are preparing for summer camp at Carson Newman College, July 19-26.  We have 13 students attending.  Thank you for your prayers and financial support.  We will have a lunch fundraiser Sunday, June 7, after morning worship.  After the lunch the youth will be going to Miss Suzi and Mr. Dan's house for an end of the school year party.  Bring your bathing suits, towel, sun screen, Bibles and $5.00 to help pay for food. 

52nd Anniversary Celebration

We will celebrate our 53nd Anniversary of University Baptist Church on Sunday, October 4, 2009.  We will begin our celebration with Small Group meetings at 9:30 AM, and worship at 10:50 AM.  After morning worship we will have a barbeque and dinner-on-the-grounds.  Alex, of the famous Alex's B B Q, will be preparing our lunch.  It will be a great time of food and fellowship.  This will also be "bring a friend to church" Sunday.   Be sure you mark your calendar and don't miss this day.  We want all our family and friends to celebrate with us!

Pray for Dr. and Liz Koleski. Jerry and Liz and their children have returned to the states to prepare for a move to Africa.

Pray for Mark and Terri Barnes and their children with New Tribes Mission. Mark and Terri will be working stateside with New Tribes until such time that they will be able to return to the field.
